Meaning:
O Most Beloved Divine Lord Sai Shiva, Thou art The Divine Cosmic Dancer and Thou Rides on Nandi The Bull – which is Thy Divine Vehicle. Thou art The Beloved Divine Child of Nanda. O Lord Sri Sai Narayana, Thou art The Saviour and Sustainer of all and art The Beloved Divine Lord of Mother Lakshmi – Who is The Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity. Thou art Adorned with Serpents and art The Embodiment of The Primeval Sound ‘Om’. O Most Beloved Divine Lord Sri Sai Narayana, we bow down and offer our Most Humble Salutations to Thee. (Yashoda and her husband Nanda Maharaj, who was almost 60 yrs old were childless, whereas his other brothers had sons and daughters. Nanda Maharaj’s younger brother had arranged a Yagna and so he had invited Brahmins for lunch. As a mark of respect, the younger brother asked Nanda Maharaj to offer Dakshina to the Brahmins. As Nanda Maharaj distributed clothes and other things to the Brahmins, they all Blessed him in a chorous that he will have a long and happy life and will have a son. An astonished Nanda quickly rushed to his Kul Guru i.e. his family Guru – Maharishi Shandilya and told about him the entire episode. Shandilya Muni was shocked and just couldn’t believe it. He felt that probably Nanda had not heard it right and so he called for the Brahmins and checked directly with them why they all Blessed Nanda to have a son. He wanted to know, what made them bless him in this manner and they said they did not think before Blessing him, but it just came from within them, from their Atma. Then very soon, on Makar Sankranti day, Shandilya Muni held a very big Yagya for Nanda Baba, on the banks of The Yamuna River. Laksharchana was done by chanting Lord Sri Gopala’s Divine Name. All of a sudden from the sky, came a small blue light, like a blue sapphire and it went into the chest of Nanda and then it jumped into the heart of Mother Yashoda. Then on Raksha Bandhan day again these Brahmins came and told Nanda that after eight days he will become a father. Lord Sri Krishna was born exactly eight days later and we all know the rest of the story. Since Lord Sri Krishna is born from The Atma of Nanda HE called as ‘Nandaatmajaa Hari Naaraayanaa’).
