Raama Sitaa Shoka Vinaashakaram

[Raama Raama Raama Raama Raama Raama Ram

Raama Raama Raama Sitaa Raama Raama Ram

Raama Raama Raama Sai Raama Raama Ram]

Meaning:

O Lord Hanuman, Thou art The Most Beloved Divine Child of Mother Anjana. Thou art The Bravest and Mightiest ONE, Who Moved about in The Ashoka Vana, in search of Mother Sita when She was imprisoned by the ferocious demon king Ravana. We bow to Thee O Lord, Who attacked and set ablaze the terrible empire of Lanka, in order to punish the demon king Ravana. Thou entered the most dreadful Ashok Forest, in The Most Fearless Manner and met Mother Sita and helped in destroying Her sorrow. (Exact meaning of the word Hanuman – ‘Hanu’ means to destroy and ‘maan’ means ego – so HE Who has destroyed HIS Ego totally is Hanuman.)
